Introduction about prognosis in electric machine

Prognosis implies to estimating of Remaining Useful Life (RUL) after fault has occurred. In order to estimate RUL, data-driven method and model-based method has been applied now. While data-driven method requires a lot of data including failure data, model-based method does not require any historical data. Model-based method is what I would like to develop for prognosis of electric machine.
